Fishing Report: June 12th

Good afternoon fishermen!

The weather has been…we’ll say moody, the past few days. It has rained, and been chilly. The rain we had yesterday did not stop our guests from filling their buckets with fish though! The weather is supposed to improve for tomorrow though, with some sunshine and warmer temps!

Fishing Report: The fishing report is pretty steady from last week. Up north near the shallow reefs. The fish will move from the top of the reefs to the edges throughout the day. Zippel Bay and Long Point in 18-32 feet of water have been doing well. Anchored up and jigging in with frozen shiners has been producing the best. Some drifting with spinners tipped with leeches or crawlers has been effective as well. Gold or green jigs have been working best. The water is VERY high right now, as you will see in one of the pictures, and be very careful out on the lake and in the bay and the river as there is a lot of debris floating around out there. Safety first!

We have one 4 man cabin open this weekend, as well as a few lodge rooms, so if you are still looking for lodging, give the Wigwam Resort on Lake of the Woods a call!

First pictures are of two our groups from this week that caught quite a few fish, and the third picture is the water levels shown by our main dock right now.
