12/18/23 Ice Update

12/18/23 Ice Update Our rd is open to Side by side, four wheeler and snowmobile pulling portables. Low temp in the low single digits last night. Made an inch overnight. I’ve got 7.5 ” on the 2nd breaker we’re crossing. 1st breaker we cross with the bridge (clear ice spot) is at 6″. Big sheets of ice around us are at 9-11″. The open water we had out from us, most pushed shut but theres still open water on the east side of it. Do not travel past our stakes which end in about 23.5′. 4 mile bay is 8-10″ on our path. Not quite ready as of today to park wheelhouses out front of the lodge for camping but we do have spots available to rent in the campground. I will update as soon as we have enough. The weekend went smooth and was great fishing from the reports I got. Really good sign for the season. Chubs seemed to be working good on the dead stick. Or Jigging. Small spoons, rattle baits, jig n rap. I don’t hink it mattered a whole lot what you had down over the weekend. Seemed like everyone was catching.
